Well, it is nearly Christmas and my Halloween decorations are still up. I thought about telling people that we are going for a Dickensian motif what with the stone block wallpaper and the gargoyles and gothic lanterns, but the decapitated head fountain on the dining room table is a dead giveaway.
I'm finally getting the better of this cold. I was actually able to finish a whole meal last night for the first time in two weeks. I'll tell you one good thing about this whole situation, though, this is the healthiest I've eaten in a long while. I'm going to make a concerted effort to keep this up now that I'm getting better.
There was one very alarming symptom that manifested itself about four days into my sickness. I could actually smell the inside of my sinuses. The people dealing with this cold now know just what I'm talking about. For the uninitiated I will elaborate only by saying that if you're smelling something that's inside your head, it is precisely the very last smell you'd ever wish to experience.
This weekend is shaping up to be The Great Weekend Waste Part 2, as I spend yet another weekend working on my worthless car. If driving a Saturn isn't repellent enough, just try to look cool and aloof to the hot philly in the car next to you when the transmission grinds and lurches to an abrupt halt. That said, I can't place the blame solely on my car for not getting me laid. But it seems a worthy scapegoat anyway.
Recently I bought my two favorite stop-motion animation Rampaging Monster flicks on DVD, The Black Scorpion and The Beast from 20,000 Leagues. I cannot more highly recommend any two other films if you like stop-motion (with the possible exception of The Valley of Gwangi). I can hardly wait to review them, if only to prove that, yes, I really do write for a website. There's no shortage of me talking about it but I've yet to put up any examples.
Well, that's all for now boils and ghouls,
R. Valco
PS. I got a real gem of a story about my boss and a little incident that happened. More on that later, perhaps. It certainly reconfirms in my mind why I genuinely dislike working for women.

I pre-ordered it on Ebay. Probably not going to be in many major outlets, but then again B&N has a lot of books.
