Jesup, Georgia....a place of 9,000 people and yet I have so much to say about a place so small. I guess I shouldn't rag on it too much...it is my hometown and all...but, you have to know that every year around this time my parents expect me back there and every year I say to myself...self, JESUP, WHY?? It's just one of those towns where the blacks live on one side, whites on the other,no your place,and no your destiny...home of pagents and farms and people who have no clue that there are more options than living in the small ass black hole of town...sucks you and tries to never let you go... It's funny how I imagine things to change I go back and nothing has happened same stores...same people...same point of views...same cliques...same girls doing what they have always done....date rednecks, get married have more rednecks and they wonder why we don't hang out anymore??...then I get back and everyone is about to shit bricks when they realize that WOW!!! people and things do change....it's just one of those things i guess... the last time I was home I saw one of my elementary school teachers in WALMART....yep, I live in a town where Walmart is sadly the place to see people...so I'm at Wally World and I see Mrs.Thomas from like I dunno 7th grade and this chicks says to me, "Oh, I still recognize you even in your little disguise." Now my little disguise is hot pink hair and an eyebrow ring....you just want to shout at people like that....ignorance really is bliss to them, I'm constantly trying to tell people you know there are several ways one can be in this world...don't put me in your box but in the end as far as Jesup is concerned...things never change and...home will still be home
