Hey guys.... oh, how hectic life has been. So I know I told everyone that my sister and I got a place together. Well my original lease when I lived in my one bedroom wasn't up until June, so I had to transfer to a two bedroom in the same complex to avoid any nasty cancellation charges for terminating my lease. Of course they still got me with a $150 transfer fee. And then a bunch of what I call BS bills and charges for making my apt ready for new residents.
So get this.... they charge me $75.00 for a "Thermo Fog" fee, which I find out after calling is what they do to an apt, if there is an odor they can't get rid of. WTF. I'm one of the cleanest living people I know, even the maintenance guys on the property have told me my apartment was one of the cleanest they had seen. So when I ask them why the charge.... they tell me cooking odors. Seriously?! Why charge me a fee for something that is considered part of every day life? I don't get it? I smoke cigarettes, but I always do that outside (I wanted to avoid any stupid move out charges, and I just don't like the lingering smell that leaves) and I don't have any pets. Do you guys think that's unfair to charge me for that? It's like punishing me for cooking, which I love to do!! BOO on them!!! BOOOOOOOO!!! Me no likey that. I've talked to the apt manager, and she told me she called her supervisor and they agreed they'd split cost with me 50/50, but should I argue that I shouldn't have to pay it at all? I totally believe in taking care of my responsibilities, but I don't feel like this is one of them. I mean, what do I pay rent for? My complex is like, 30 years old. Cooking is part of living! Geez!! And to top it all off, I've got a $1000 colonoscopy procedure on Monday, that has to come out of my pocket
Sorry to bitch and moan, but sometimes I feel like I try so damn hard to be a honest living, hard working individual and it seems to screw me sometimes. Ya feel me?
Here is the belated ass shot

I personally would just see it as $75 and they took off half already. Read the contract closely because what can turn out to be an arguement for one thing can lead to other BS fees. It is up to you though on what you want to do. I would pay the $34.50 and just to stop their whining.
