I'm home from Las Vegas.
Somehow I managed to fenagle first class while on standby on the way there, which definitely shouldn't have happened since I was on the lowest possible priority with 14 people above me. I basically didn't know how to make sure I was on the standby list so I asked the guy at the desk what I should do: "Uh, do a dance, maybe a little hula?" he joked. "Ok, whatever'll get me on there!" I replied. "What was your name? Yeah, it looks like everyone will get on today." All I was is nice. I was assigned a regular seat and then the guy came and found me and moved me up to the first row. I figured it was just that the guy decided to bestow a bit of kindness on me. Dumb luck. Then on the way back, I checked with a guy at the gate to make sure I was on there, and he ended up giving me a choice between a few scattered seats up front, or a whole row to myself in back! I was worried I would be bumped from flight to flight trying to get home and back, so at least for this trip I definitely lucked out.
The new Wynn hotel is definitely nice, and I love that it features a huge wall of trees facing the strip now, and that it holds a Ferrari dealership. It's just so convenient, you know, not to have to see all the plebians on the strip as I buy my many Ferraris.
