when i was little, i used to go to this summer camp type thing in which singalongs were far more popular than singalongs should ever have been. but there was this one particular not-song that they'd sometimes have us do at these events, where everyone would start out quietly slapping their legs, then they'd slap harder, then they'd start snapping their fingers and then start clapping, then clap louder and louder and louder, and then reverse it all again getting quieter and quieter, and the point was that it sounded like a rainstorm. when there's a group of thirty or so kids doing that, it actually sounds sorta like a rainstorm. and as gay as this makes me, i liked that.
it has been raining here for the past three days or so, and we're sleeping about a foot away from a tin roof, and the rain gets really loud and it's rather pretty-sounding and makes me nostalgic and happy and sad.
