I have an iPhone. Its jailbroken and unlocked because I have T-Mo (for some reason). I really hate the fact that I get lumped in with pirating and stealing and whatever else people associate with jailbreaking and unlocking MY phone. I did it for one reason. Well, two I guess. I like having my own wallpapers and I like not having any icons on one screen so I can see said wallpaper. (Its of my baby and shes cute) Wait, three. I use it as a mobile hot spot also.
How exactly does this make me a criminal? Who exactly am I stealing from? Every stupid ass app thats on my phone was purchased from itunes. I got my 2g when they came out and Apple got their money. Its MY phone. I should be able to do whatever I want with it, within reason. (I wouldn't go around a bingo hall swinging it wildly trying to concuss some blue hairs)
Imagine that you spent x amount of dollars on a tv. You get it home and connect it to your cable/satellite service.
Stop here. You bought the TV and you pay for your service, ok? Ok.
You tune to your favorite channel and it doesn't come in. Why? The tv manufacturer doesn't want you to watch that channel. Lame, right?
Its not exactly the same, but you get the idea. I guess thats why I also have a Blackberry. Choices and such.
Go England!
