Nearly up to 5 weeks off the smokes (again) tongue

Been here twice before - fell over on this day, on one occasion and lasted it out another week the other time. I feel in my heart that I am good to go this time. I have been off the patches for 2 1/2 - 3 weeks - kept forgetting to put one on smile and while...

the laser/radar det was about $1100.00 and your right the laser detector on it's own will only be letting you know that you have been caught unless you also use a product called VEIL which is an Anti Laser Stealth Coating that I brought back from the U.S. very cool stuff. I am also fitting BLINDER M40-X Treme laser jamer, and number plate protectors, just for the hell of it haha.

3 weeks tomorrow and still going strong smile Means I've been a non smoker for 8 out of the last 10 weeks - DAMN those weak 2 weeks lol.

What I have done different this time is exercise - walking/jogging every afternoon and dusted off some old exercise equipment - like a weights set up, but uses your bodyweight for the resistance. As a result, I...

I loved getting all the cool mensa books, quizzes and stuff, but other than that I have only ever been to a couple of meetings, because I don't like being the dumbest bastard in the room, I only just got in at 137 and at my first meeting I played chess with a 12yo boy and was soundly thrashed six times which was all my ego could take, I had always rated myself as a player up until then too, having won a number of tournaments at school when I was a kid, well because of mensa I haven't played since haha, I mean this kid was thinking up to 5 moves ahead and seemingly covering all possible scenarios, I mean I can plan a game but to cover every move that far ahead, fuck! we even played one game without using a board just by memory and that ended up sending me fucking nuts as well haha and I thought that my being able use Fibonacci numbers to calculate Pi to 132 decimal places (at which point I got bored) or processing a room or remembering peoples names and every phone number that I have had since I was 5yo was a cool trick. All mensa did for me is lower my self esteem haha

I don't like this new SG format at all, bring back the old I say and don't fuck with what aint broke

Hmmm new look SG. It all has pluses and minuses. Biggest minuses are the colour scheme - sooo insippid - like they dare not commit to any particular colour. Would rather be able to scroll down to read my visitors comments, not wait for another [albeit sloooooow] page to load up.

Will add, as I go along smile

Took real close note of my body's reactions to smoking again. Back pain returned within 2 days. Insomnia - 3 days. Lethargy - almost immediately.

Something is telling me that maybe, just maybe, smoking isn't too good for me!????

Threw 'em away again on Monday night last and so far so good.

The back pain and insomnia alone are enough to remind me that I...

wow, well done. As a reformed smoker I can tell you that it gets easier, just remember that the cravings only last a few seconds. Take it one day at a time and just try to understand fully that each craving will come and go away and in time will lessen.

Having the cravings won't kill you. Each one is just moving further towards not feeling them at all! So think of each one as a kind of conquest.

Also, change old habits, like if you used to smoke in the morning and read the paper and have a coffee, find a new routine. Have bacon and eggs on toast or something!

Best of luck!

Wheels fell off yesterday...after wanting a smoke - really really wanting a smoke for the last week, I caved in and bought a pouch frown

Haven't given up giving up...just taking a break and sorting out some new strategies.

There MUST be a way to beat this fucking thing.

Man ... yesterday was a rough ride on this non-smoking express. For the first time since I gave up, I really wanted a smoke. Put up quite a struggle and even scoured the house to see if I had any pouches of tobacco hidden(forgotten about) anywhere. Ended up putting on a nicotine patch which seemed to soothe the beast - good in one way as...

Still off the smokes. off the patches too. forgot to put one on on Thursday morning - didn't realise till about mid day. Handled it not worries, ditto for Friday and today.

Tar and carbon monoxide free for three weeks and full on nicotine free for 3 days.

I'm happy with that.

nice work stick with it, at least it only gets easier biggrin

It's official. I have to ban myself from intertnet dating sites. Thought I was comfortable enough with myself to throw a profile on a couple of sites. Ha! Nope. Same old insecuritues stuck their heads out. Checking emails every hour to see if anyone had replied to my messages, or had sent me messages. logging into the site every couple of hours to keep my...

Out of the "100 club". First time in about 10 years I have weighed less than 100 kg. Woo Hoo. Hand in hand with giving up the smokes on Easter Monday. What a great week.

Threw some of my latest art in my folder. Saving the dollars now to buy some decent canvass and will be painting a series on sunrises - metaphorical beginings and...
