time to answer question two:
in my respect for the devil (pleased to meet you won't you quess my name) after all the research i've done into relgion and what have you i have to answer this; yes there is a devil. there has to be, for i believe in god (the brightest bright) there has to be a devil (the darkest of dark.) but of course being brought up roman catholic it, it's slightly skewed. here it goes...imagine relgion as a company. a big multinational corparation. so in one board meeting god sits down with all his vps and managers. he lets them know that everything is going great. earth is done baking and life has started in a couple million years the great plan with be in full effect. mankind will be walking around in control. so everything is going as planned... but there is a little problem. there is this one area that he has no control over, chaos. imagine it as a rival company, small but powerful. but he has a plan for this. he's gonna send his best and his brightest down to manage those bastards in that company. at this point reality hit lucifer hard. he's the best of the best, next to the kid of course but wouldn't sacrifice him for that! so god sends the morningstar down to chaos, his management skill are bar none the best heaven can offer. even he kid can't hold a candle to him. so lucifer heads out of his corner office, to the blackened bolier room that is chaos. within a few years the blackness of chaos gets to lucifer. he has it locked down, there is now order within chaos, which was gods plan. what a better way to control your enemies but to send one of your most trusted. so this is how lucifer got down to hell. no problem still in god's good graces. it isn't until man comes along and villifies the devil, a common misunderstanding in the myopic way humans seek to control each other.
answer to 2A.-there is no need to fear the devil. satan is the hebrew word for adversary. nothing wrong with being tested. god has a sense of humor just look at the platypus, but also a sense of honor which is why he has no problem testing us. just look what he did to job. anyway. every time see the devil in the bible he is testing someone. he's the oppisite side of the coin. seeing how deepo the faith of the people is. in the three instances he appears in the bible he is not trying to drag anyone off to hell. he's testing for god, like an independent contracted to test the securtiy of security or something. it isn't until the church (or any other religous group) needs a reason to keep followers. being everything is bad for you, you are dirty, needing god's forgiviness. so i believe that my god is a god of love, he'll let me into heaven (whatever it might be) because i tried to be as cool to everyone as i could. blaming lucifer for doing his job is like blaming a cop for a ticket when you were doing 65 in a school zone.
