Why is it that when something becomes trendy, certain people stop thinking it's cool? It was cool before everyone liked it; if it, in itself, hasn't changed, then how has it become less cool?
Why do some people feel the need to be original and different at all times? What's so great about being indie, anyway?
Lots of the music I like is popular. I still love tattoos, no matter how trendy they are right now. I take pleasure in my livejournal, even if everyone else has one now.
I HATE popularity contests. How are anti-popularity contests any different?
Don't get me wrong, I'm a snob. But that's about my own personal preferences; it has little to do with the ebbing and flowing of trends. We still wake up and eat and breathe oxygen... even if everyone else is doing it.

I agree. There was a girl I knew in school who only liked bands nobody else had ever heard of. Even if they were shit, she just had to be the only one that had heard of this 'amazing' band. She hated me, I think partly because I always knew of the bands before her (and generally thought they were crap). As soon as she knew someone else loved the band, it would put her off slightly and she'd have to search for a new, more obscure one...
