A couple years ago, I did an internship at a place called HB Playwrights Foundation. It was a great place, and my job was amazing. I ended up as the assistant stage manager for one of the productions. It was a series of short plays. One of them starred Dana Reeve.
Mrs. Reeve was one of the more quiet people involved with the show. She didn't stay after the performances to drink with the cast and shoot the shit. From what I could see, she just sort of slipped into the dressing rooms, went on stage, and slipped back out again. She was very nice though, and very respectful of the "smaller" people like myself - much moreso than most of the other cast members were. She wasn't high and mighty about her social status or her good deeds; she was just a really nice, classy woman.
Apparently she's dead now. My heart goes out to her son and anyone else who valued her, and on the off chance that there's a heaven, I certainly hope she's there.
