I will say; So happy that xmas is over. Soo happy. You have no idea how happy, and for it to be over is great. But; what i dont understand.
15 people over Xmas are getting "a big thank you" or something similar to that. 3 of these people work nights...and i'm one of those 3. Last Thursday, some of the people were moaning that "some of the people are on there, and that they've only got it because they did overtime". Yea, over xmas i did a shit load of overtime; but I wasn't doing it to get a thank you, and partially...i didnt do it for the money (lets be honest, its not the complete truth it definately helps!) i did it to get the job done properly, as there arent that many people that know the department anymore.
On Monday, one of the day managers spoke to me, and told me why she nominated me to go to the celebration lunch on Friday; the reason being that despite having huge deliveries, i was taking the time to look for stuff customers are asking for - with it being close to xmas, it was happening alot. Have you got any disarrano...bucks fizz, tia maria baileys etc. Anything Xmasy, they wanted it. And despite happening the last few years before...Its the first time that we've (one of the other 3 being on the same department as I) been recognised for it; surely others should be happy. Alas; when i said this to some of the people at tea last night, they decided to think not. Because "APPARENTLY" They had big deliveries - yea, on Health and Beauty at xmas time; i'm not sure of that one; and always help their customers. Which is bullshit because i help them all of "my" customers as well.
What i don't understand is...Why no "Well done." Yes, You had bigger deliveries. We all had bigger deliveries. Yes, you always help your customers and try to find stuff for them if its not on the shelf already; but you didnt nearly have as many customers doing it, or as huge deliveries.
Don't bitch and moan that it was the 3 people on nights that were invited to the celebration lunch. Be happy that 3 of the night crew were invited to the celebration lunch, as i think the last time any of us were invited was...About a year ago...funnily enough.
Kind of a bit of a shitty reason for a rant, but ffs.
