When I was in high school I was a bit of a Jack the Ripper obsessive - I read tons of books about it, watched all the movies and documentaries, learned all the theories...I think it was the fact that, short of a time machine, the case will never, ever be solved that fascinated me.

Also, I was 16 and it was gross and I was into that stuff. whatever

Anyway, an interesting thing about the supposed bad grammar and spelling of the letter is that some speculate that it's faked - that it's written by someone only pretending to be uneducated. The words "knif" and "whil" are the tip-offs - someone who really didn't know how to spell and was writing based on sound would more likely write "nife" and "wile." What illiterate knows about a silent K?

That's my Ripper Nerd moment for the day.
