How did you come up with your SG name?
“Honestly, I chose @bully because it's the very opposite of who I am and how I live. It was a sort of fuck you to all of those who participated in the cruelty.”
What inspired you to become a SuicideGirl?
“I grew up in a VERY small town in Wisconsin. I was bullied from too young of an age and then throughout high school. I have ALWAYS felt like an outsider...I saw the world from another angle and I expressed myself differently than the average midwesterner.
SuicideGirls had a banner on a piercing site (BME Zine) I frequented and I'd wanted to join since graduating high school in 2003. An abusive relationship didn't allow for that. Once I was released from that relationship, I found my courage and my safety through SuicideGirls. I finally applied to be a model. “
How did you start modeling?
“I started doing self portraits in 2004, I was very troubled mentally and I found it a less traumatic way of expressing what I was feeling. But I really don't feel like I earned that title until SG.”
Who is your SG crush?
“ALWAYS @quinne and @gogo!”
Tell us about your side hustle or day job!
“I'm a licensed veterinary nurse, for over 10 years now. I spent most of that time in emergency and ICU. It is definitely a job fueled by love and compassion.”
Tell us about some of the happiest moments in your life.
“The happiest moment of my life really only occurred a year or so ago. I had been in a terribly abusive relationship with an ex husband and myself. Prior to that, the entire time since age 4 I was living in that same life under different circumstances. I had never thought I was worthy of anything good. Not a good life. And when abuse outweighs willpower, that wore down to me not thinking I was worthy of life at all.
The happiest moment of my life, was the day I shifted my perspective to where I was able to see that I was definitely and always was worthy of a good life. I cried a lot that day and felt so much lighter. There is always work to do, but having that as my baseline now changes everything. “
What's your best quality?
“I have been told it's my kindness and ability to make someone feel at home.”
What is the geekiest thing about you?
“I am a very clean, organized lady. I am VERY delighted by things like, a good new carpet cleaner brand or new sponge (we have an Italian dishwasher....it's me😜) or a more convenient layout in a store.”
What skill would you like to acquire?
“I am always looking to improve my ability to stand up for myself and not get overwhelmed by transient emotions.”
Do you have any new body mods planned?
“Always new tattoos....I have one planned for my foster crow Carl and some others that are symbolic of the new and brilliant chapter I've begun. “
