Why can't mothers be mothers? Why is it that people do things like this? Why do they drive their children to perform so well in one way or another that they end up doing such harm in the process? I know one explanation is that they are living vicariously through their children. Another is that they want the best for their children. But why can't they see the damage pain that they cause? Have they never watched another parent scream at their child and been horrified? Perhaps this is something I could only understand if I had children. It is something that gives me pause when considering procreation. Will I be a good enough mother? I know it is impossible to be perfect all of the time, but can I be good enough that my children will grow healthy, with respect for themselves and others, with open and critical minds that are still full of wonder, with compassion and discernment?

Why do you wonder if you made a mistake in this instance?

It was done as a favor for a good client. It's the VP's sister and niece. So,,,, What could I say at the time... I'm just wondering if I still have a client after all this.
It never seems to get any easier for me. I'm starting to think adding portrait service was a mistake.
