4am - I've spent some time eating a peanut butter sandwich and composing mad libs.
n.b. - I can't explain why I think these are ridiculous. Normally, you do your best to fit incoherant or filthy words into the context. But with the ones I've written below, I hope the elipses help point out the rigours of non-imaginative writing and make the whole thing fall to pieces.

She began to look over her notes atttentively, to take her mind off Lord Alex. It was nearing 8 o'clock and she still hadn't received word from the tribesmen.
There was a flash and the sillouette of a large man stood out against the tent. Amanda rolled on to her side and screamed as a crackle of distant thunder echoed out across the valley. Suddenly the tent door was drawn open, and Lord Alex stumbled in.
"My darling. We must leave!" Lord Alex said gravely. "The natives have seen my _____ and they know it is a danger to them as long as we are here!"
Amanda recovered herself and looked into Lord Alex's eyes.
"Alright. But first...", she whispered, and drew his ____ out of his _____.

Miss Kelsey nodded to David and followed him to their compartment. The small room was chill, as if the window had been open all the time they were in the dining car. that's exactly it: faced with something that is stereotypically about sex, a person's mind relishes being able to make it mundane again. I think wanting to use normal words (like "toaster") is just fine. What made me happy writing these was that I didn't even want to fill in the blanks. Somethings are just better left out.
