Even though I promised no more drinkin' stories for a while, here's one (my current one, actually):
I gave blood this morning. It's something I've been doing pretty regularly with an ex (actually, the girl I lost my virginity to-but that's an interesting personal note and irrelevant to this story). Well, I get home, and Maya and her cousin are going to see a secret Calexico show. They, unfortunately, couldn't score me tickets-Calexico's BIG in their hometown; what can I say? Anyway, they're not sure if there'll be alcohol at this show, since it's a benefit for some school somewheres in town. So, Maya asks to borrow my flask (a gift from my friend's wedding), and I say "yes, but there's just a little bourbon in there". She, being the good influence that she is, says "well, finish it off!" After losing a pint of blood, alcohol hits you HARD. I'm pretty sloshed off of one beer and two bourbons. Good lord.
LATER:
I'm sober. Now off to my friend's homebrew party. By the way, I applied for a mix CD trading group. I tried to institute this with some of my friends here in Tucson a few years ago, but there's logistical difficulty involved. I'm hoping they take me, I think it's a great idea.
