Sometimes life really has a tendency to kick you when you are down. Today is the kind of day where I hate life. frown

Hi there!

Lately I advocate banishing a lot. So banish!

Magicians often love science, but a scientist who loves magick doesn't cross my path everyday!

I don't know what the heck we are doing for the wedding, but I do know that the boy and I are going to be wearing matching vegan white creepers. Awwww. How cute. wink Now if I could just find a dress that fits a skinny little, flat-chested girl like me. biggrin

Long time no update. I am now full time at the university. Yay. My car blew up (not yay), but I got a new one. Double yay! Just wondering where to go from here. Not sure that San Diego is right for us. But where to go? Back to our old home? Hawaii? Costa Rica? Who knows. But hopefully soon we will figure it out.

I was unaware of a scientist's group.
Thanks for the tip.

We're hiring in Pittsburgh. But I wouldn't recommend working for my company. They like themselves more than us lowly employees.

i'm going with costa rica. i think that's where i want to end up.

I got a tooth pulled on Tuesday. I was scared shitless. They gave me a pill to calm my nerves and in no time the tooth was out. I am actually kind of proud of myself for not freaking out. It was one of my wisdom teeth and I can honestly say that I was in WAY more pain before I got it yanked than...

My dad called me this morning to tell me that my grandmother passed away last night. I feel quite devastated. I was speachless, as was he. As sad as I was, I couldn't help but think that my father is now parentless. He is now an orphan of sorts and I think that is the saddest part of all. She lived to see her 90th...

San Diego is really losing its novelty. I am getting increasingly sick of living here. The weather is nice and it is nice to have a beach near by, but the positives seem to end there. There are constantly airplanes flying overhead, there is always someone shooting off fireworks year-round at all hours of the night (which totally scares my dog shitless and wakes us...

A lot of what you're saying sounds like problems especially true of a place like Pacific Beach which is I guess around where you live.
I moved from PB to OB/Point Loma and liked it a lot more. There's still the beach but a lot less attitude and noise. Well a different kind of attitude, total stonerville but that's better than loud obnoxious drunks.
There are other cooler areas in town like South or North Park, Golden Hills, etc.

True real estate prices are ridiculous nowadays.
Prices are on the verge of going down, in fact it's already started to slow down.

Fireworks all year round, are you my neighbor? I couldn't agree more. Materialism is ingrained in the American phsyche. I kid myself and say that I am not but when I am fed up with it all and want to sell everything I own and move out of the country or into a VW bus there is a wierd feeling of failure that stops me. Success is unfortunately measured by possessions when it should be measured by life experience.

It is the same old, same old here. Just got back from a trip to San Jose, CA. Flying in a little ass commuter plane really makes me feel scared. I think it is the sudden realization that humans were never meant to be that far up in the air. That and the Mythbusters episode that showed how damn thin that metal is.

Oh and...

I've been ranting all day, so I might as well rant here...

FUCK APPLE!

I waited and waited like a good little girl for the macbook to come out and today it is released... with integrated graphics! No nifty NVidia or ATI card. Oh no! Just some crap Intel thing that makes it useless for playing any game whatsoever. Uggghhh! Goodness knows I can't afford...

Yeah, I don't know what's going on with Apple these days, but they're starting to go MicroSoft-ishly paternalistic on us, giving us what they say we need (which, conveniently for them, is the cheapest thing for them to put out) rather than what we want.

I've just decided to keep buying PC crap and accept that I'll have to replace it all every 3-5 years, like it's an American car from the 1970s.

Still, it does all irk me quite a bit, especially when they try to sell me features that I don't want or offer me "improved" features that are actually quantum steps backward. mad

Hello all. I am still alive. I have been busy, busy so I haven't really had much time to spend on the intraweb. I am feeling much better than last time. Still running test to figure out what is wrong. Today was a ct scan. I hope this is the last test, but who knows.

In other news, I bought ATHF Volume 4. Good times!
