just recently i have come across a group of people launching a new foundation to drive awareness of male depression.. and the stigma behind it.. and to encourage people to talk about it.. as opposed to feeling that they need to 'harden the fuck up!!'
i contacted ehon.. the guy behind 'soften the fck up'.. and told him i'd like to do more than merely make a donation.. that i'd like to help him and the team really drive this thing forward.. to really make a difference.. to use my skills.. and lets be honest.. experiences.. to do something great.. to change peoples lives.. to maybe save someones life.. if one good thing can come of the difficulties of the last few years then it will have been worth it.. i'm stronger and i hope better for it.. now its time to use this so others can have the same benefit...
the plan is to work closely with ehon on the organisational side of things.. setting up foundations.. securing funding etc.. to ensure the tools are in place to allow the initiative to flourish.. and maybe offer my experiences if neccesary...
i've grown in the last few years.. i've got a lot of strength from a lot of good people.. they have inspired me to keep going.. to be strong.. to deal with lifes tough times.. they've not told me to 'harden up'.. except when i've needed it.. they've listened and they've encouraged me to deal with the tough times.. not brush them under carpet.. now its time to use my learnings to get others through the tough times of their own.. its time to stand up.. its time to make a difference...
if you're interested in following our progress through the launch etc that would be great...
