so before i tell you just how amazing costa rica is i'd like to give a quick shout out to imodium.. its been an amazing travel companion over the last two weeks.. i really couldn't have done it without it!
anyway back to costa rica.. everyone keeps telling me they are so jealous, well they should be! this place is fucking amazing! i love it!
spent yesterday zip-lining and hiking (as well as treetop walkways and tarzen swings) through monteverde cloud forest which was brilliant, very high, very fast, a real rush.. then in the evening we went on a night hike of the cloud forest which is almost impossible to articulate as an experience.. the senses were on overload, while vision was minimal (just torchlight mainly), the sounds, smells, feel and general atmosphere of the forest at night during a thunderstorm, with the rain, the lightening, all the insects, animals, the frogs.. it was.. just.. wow!!
saw many creatures including tarantula's, funnel web spiders, treefrogs, lizards and other insects.. oh and maybe a centaur!!
today we traveled by minibus and boat from monteverde to la fortuna (at the base of arenal volcano), went to the hot springs this evening.. they are all heated naturally from the volcano and are so hot (63 degrees centigrade).. just sat in the water, watching the sky darken as a storm rolledl in with the lightening, rain and thunder...
am off canyonneering tomorrow and rafting on monday.. i love costa rica...
