And so another day. I certainly had an interesting night. After establishing that I had not made for being short with her the day before, Lucy decided that she was just going to disappear. Sometimes we both play games where we know the outcome, and this game was basically hide-and-seek - the gesture of seeking sufficient enough to stop Lucy hiding. But in a twist to our usual dance, she went home while I searched Farringdon in vain.
I came home still in upbeat mood and hoping for a swift resolution. Unfortunately there is a natural limit to my patience, and the promise that I made not to raise any of Lucy's failings crumbled. It met with a suitably vitriolic response and the situation was only resolved when I realised that I would only be able to sleep in the bed after some grovelling.
In film news today, M Night Shamalayan has signed a deal with Fox. If anyone goes to www.the-numbers.com they'll see that Fox are on a pretty big winning streak, particularly in the independent sector. I'm fairly happy about this. I think Unbreakable was a superior film to the Sixth Sense, if Mr. S can deliver something without twists or smug nods to the camera (the Village) that maybe he can be saved from going into my Joel Shumacher vault of failed film directors. Apparently McG has also signed on to direct a film about the CIA and Special Forces. He's a director past saving, and I suspect the title of the opus will be Delta Force 10. Having said that, if it gives Jeff Fahey work, then that's great.
For those who watch Dragons Den in the UK, Levi Roots has sold his Reggae Reggae sauce and the accompanying song to Sainsburys. Terrific news for a man who gave the most original pitch in the Den I've seen. Congratulations Mr Roots. If I see your sauce, you've got a customer.
Happy Birthday Peter Sarsgaard, Jenna Fischer, Wanda Sykes and Rachel Weisz..
So I now begin my day at work. I've got a workload to make me weep. But there is a coffee machine nearby which I'm sure will keep me sane.
