I've been offered an interview with Social Distortion. Now, before you start wetting yourself over it:
It's not with Mike Ness.
I try not to be one of those jerks who thinks that it ain't shit if it ain't the front man. After all, so many great American rock bands have been about the interplay between the personalities. We KNOW who the other players are by the way they play and present themselves. But Social D has always basically been the Mike Ness Show.
Here's my choices:
Johnny 2 Bags: New guitarist who came on board after Dennis Dannel died of an aneurysm in 2000. Been around to record one album with the band.
Matt Freeman: Touring bassist - not even the one who recorded. BUT, it's the same Matt Freeman who plays bass for Rancid. An interview about Social D through the context of Rancid could be a pain in the ass, but, it could be really cool, too.
