Holy Mother of...
Imagine- if you will- little 'ol me... All cute, bitchy, and petite (I said imagine, didn't I?)- buried up to my shoulders in a mountain of stuff. Photos, pieces of paper filled with things to write about, laundry, books to put away, oh- and did I mention photos? I feel almost hopelessly lost in the slurry of things that have happened over the course of the past five days.
Friday, Saturday, and the better part of Sunday- Globug, Hubby, Doggie-Pup, and I were enjoying the Manistee beach house. The same one we spent a lovely three days in last October. This year, however, the weather was fierce. And when I say fierce, I mean- 50 mile per hour winds at almost a constant clip for over 24 hours. These winds battled the house, scared the holy shit out of Doggie-Pup, and kept me furiously too busy taking pictures of the 15 plus feet waves battering the beach below us. I was so busy that I never really did any journals to post to the blog, so I will give everyone a guided tour of the weekend through pictures once I get the best of 2000 shots sorted and edited. I also have to make a couple cd's for the owners of said beach house, since they loved my photos from last year, and let's face it- I'm way better this year!!!
Unpacking post trip is 90% finished... The remaining 10% is that of what got tossed into my office or the guest bedroom to hide for a later date. Being today. Because Mouse is staying the night tonight and I think she'd rather sleep on a nicely made bed, rather then nestling in amongst empty luggage, magazines, newspapers, and other assorted clutter just tossed in there. I am pleased to say, now that I finished typing that- the guest room is cleaned up and smelly lovely! Wahoo- one project done. Next up- probably a little sorting and filing in the office. Oh goody.
I have dog chicken simmering in the kitchen and stuff for dinner tonight de-frosting. The house needs to be vacuumed, but there isn't much point to using smelly nice stuff to vacuum with if the house will stay smelling of chicken. Vacuuming can wait. I have plenty to occupy me until that crucial moment.
Work the last two days, while kinda of easy (I only drive ambulances) has be extremely tiring. Yesterday my day started at ten minutes to five, punching in at 5:15am. Today, I punched in at six thirty, so Monster has been my life force. Not to mention, if I happen to find the sorry SOB that got me sick once again- I will make them pay dearly!
Yesterday was the culmination of my spending money on iTunes. We made up a playlist of songs to mark the beach house weekend and I downloaded them on Monday. Yesterday, for my birthday- I bought and downloaded Chris Isaak's new album! Sweet! I'm happy! Plus I also downloaded Mumford and Son's "Sigh No More" album. They are smokey and sultry Irish lilted gents with a Floggin Molly flare. Love it!!!
Creative update- I have a few new ideas to type into the "Medics 2" novel, lost of future blog material, and oh yeah.... PHOTO EDITING!!! Holy poop, lots of photo editing! Good thing Hubby has to work a 24 tomorrow, maybe I can catch up on the 365 project (I left off at day 224, and today is day 228).
And just so everyone know this is my blog- I HAVE A RANT!!!! Pop in a coin, crank down on the lever, and watch it go! That's the sound of my rant machine in full working order. This morning, I decided to stop for breakfast at the McD's in Ada. Mind you this is an "express" McD's. Apparently, placing the word express in the name of the place means taking 15 minutes to fashion my second choice of beverage to accompany my crap-ta-stic meal. COME ON! It's a frickin' iced coffee! WTF???
An express McD's is a chopped down version of a regular place- which also means, I guess, to advertise the full menu, yet only carrying 1/16 of it in the store. Everything I tried to order- "Oh, we don't have that. Sorry, we don't sell those..." responses by the greasy skinned, fugly bitch behind the counter. What the fuck is a bacon, egg, and cheese Mc Muffin? Gross as hell, that's what it is. If I wasn't damn near starving- I wouldn't have eaten the warmed turd sammiches I spent money on. I like the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits or bagels. Not whatever the hell it was those things were!
If you aren't going to carry the majority of the menu- I suggest you don't advertise those things you don't make there! Common sense, shitheads! And then perhaps lose the attitude when I try to order something from your maze of a midget menu and you don't carry that particular item. They don't make iced coffees. Yet they make iced coffee mochas. Huh??? Sausage biscuits, yes. Bacon egg and cheese biscuits- no. But they do put those items on a shitty stale English muffin?? Is it wrong I am confused??? Bunch of stupid S-heads!!!
Now- to change the mood. My new favorite song. Well, actually one of three. These are the lyrics that seem to ring true for me personally since I am all about music... "Stereo Hearts" by Gym Class Heros feat. Adam Levin.
[Adam Levine:] My heart's a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every no-o-o-te
Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo
[Travie McCoy:]Gym Class Heroes baby!
If I was just another dusty record on the shelf
Would you blow me off and play me like everybody else?
If I asked you to scratch my back, could you manage that?
Like yea [scratched], check it Travie, I can handle that
Furthermore, I apologize for any skipping tracks
It's just the last girl that played me left a couple cracks
I used to used to used to, now I'm over that
Cause holding grudges over love is ancient artifacts
If I could only find a note to make you understand
I'd sing it softly in your ear and grab you by the hand
Just keep it stuck inside your head, like your favorite tune
And know my heart's a stereo that only plays for you
[Chorus:]My heart's a stereo It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every no-o-o-te
Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh to my stereo
Oh oh oh oh to sing along to my stereo
[Travie McCoy:] Let's go!If I was an old-school fifty pound boombox
Would you hold me on your shoulder, wherever you walk
Would you turn my volume up in front of the cops
And crank it higher everytime they told you to stop
And all I ask is that you don't get mad at me
When you have to purchase mad D batteries
Appreciate every mixtape your friends make
You never know we come and go like on the interstate
I think I finally found a note to make you understand
If you can hit it, sing along and take me by the hand
Just keep me stuck inside your head, like your favorite tune
You know my heart's a stereo that only plays for you
[Chorus:]
[Bridge:]I only pray you'll never leave me behind (never leave me)
Because good music can be so hard to find (so hard to find)
I take your hand and hold it closer to mine
Thought love was dead, but now you're changing my mind
[Chorus:]
The other new musical loves of mine? "Tonight Tonight" Hot Chelle Rae (he he he- Chelle, that's me! I was a bikini babe mixed with Zac Galifinackus tattooed on my arm!!! And..... "Party Rock Anthem" LMFAO. Why? The damcing hip-hop hampsters in the KIA commerical featuring this song- plus I can't help by break out the boogie booty to the poppy techno bits!!! Giggles.
Stay tuned for beach house weekend photos!!!
