Three weeks ago I was working in my garage, building a rack to store plywood. I kicked the finished project up against the wall. Being a diabetic, I don't have much feeling in my feet anymore. A while later, I looked down and saw blood in my shoe. The blood was coming from under the nail on my big toe.
Fast forward to last Friday morning. We were getting ready to go to Milwaukee for the weekend. I managed to get my second toe (same foot) caught on the phone cord. I took one step and fell flat on my face, dragged down by that single toe. It looked OK, so I drove to Milwaukee. When I finally took my shoe off, there was the ugliest blood blister I've ever seen.
Went to the doctor today. First thing he did was send me down the hall for an x-ray. Both toes were broken. He had to remove the nail from the big toe, it was almost totally detached anyway. Then he drained the blood blister. What a fuckin mess.
The only good part is I didn't feel a thing.

He didn't think it would need it. He did pack it today and left, and I have to go get it repacked for the next three days.
