Well, I think I'm done with Portland. I haven't heard back about any of the couple dozen positions I've applied for, and very little is posted. Seems like the job market in Seattle is much healthier. The open positions I've seen better match my history (BA, five years experience). And honestly, Portland really isn't what I thought it was going to be when I moved here. More than half the jobs I have applied for have been in the Seattle area, and i've been interviewed for one and am waiting for a phone call about another.
I'm nervous about this though. I really hope its the right decision. Giving up on Portland means I have to make Seattle work, even if it means working two shitty jobs at once to make it happen.
