evening.
had another interview today with an interesting company in chelsea. according to the internal corporate recruiter thats been coordinating all the interviews, im currently "far and away the best candidate" right now. i have another interview with the vp of the division on friday. should be interesting, though i have to admit that id rather take the job at the start up. still waiting to hear back from them. honestly though, after 3 1/2 months of being unemployed, ill take this kind of news.
not much else going on. if you like hard cider at all i suggest you try and find some fall cider from woodchuck. its produced in september and october. its amazing. im still craving the really dry cider i used to get in san francisco, but this stuff is really good.
i went for a ride on sunday in central park in the rain. just a couple of loops, enough to maybe slightly improve my cardio fitness. i thought the ride was harder than it should have been and blamed the rain. when i got home and checked my average speed it turned out that i was riding faster (averaging a bit over 18mph) than i usually do. seems to happen a lot lately, which is a sign my legs are doing well.
drinking and cleaning my bike tonight. fun times.
night.

i took my lip ring out for the interview today. didnt notice so much until after the interview when i was walking back to the train station. i originally got the lip done because i was constantly biting my lip and wanted something to play with. i tend to play with it more when im thinking hard about something. i usually use my tongue to move the ring side to side. i noticed i kept moving my tongue to flip the ring side to side before realizing it wasnt there. because i noticed it, ive been playing with it even more since i put it back in. oh lip ring, ill miss you so much. thanks for the last six years. like atticus and my bike, you were something i wanted to do since i was a kid, a childhood wish fulfilled. im happy weve spent so much time together. i love you.
my dad has surgery on his hand tomorrow. i called him today to talk. my dad and i are a lot alike, but when i call home i usually talk to my mom. it was really great talking to my dad. because of how much alike we are ive always though theres been an unspoken understanding between us. my dad is a classic case of a good guy that made a lot of mistakes (alcohol literally almost killed him, defibulator and all) thats done his sober damnedest to make things right.
its also my moms birthday today. happy birthday mom!
