I suppose one of the positives to come out of my unemployment spell is that im finally getting rid of some crap i dont need anymore. im a bit of a pack rat, but after having nothing to do for three months my excuses for not getting rid of some things or fixing others really dont exist. i also could use the cash. managed to sell a desk chair i had from the old office and my old fuji hybrid too. thinking ill probably get rid of my old ps2 and maybe even my super nintendo, though im still up in the air on that. i dont play it, but i like having it around. too many awesome memories from when i was a kid. need to see about getting my old dell laptop fixed too, especially since its still under warranty.
might be silly, but i think im going to dump the money back into my cycling habit. the extra cash just means i dont have to take bites out of my unemployment checks. after being stuck in the house because of four days of rain, i think a set of rollers is in order. also need a couple new jerseys. new ultegra brakes and levers are awful tempting, but would run close to $500, and i need the other stuff more anyway.
after talking with one of my roommates and my own longing for west coast cider i cant seem to find in new york, ive been looking into what it would take to home brew some cider. ive had passing thoughts about it for a while, but havent because of how long it takes to make it (something on the order of 2-3 months). however, i found a video on youtube of an australian that demonstrated how to make graff cider, which is apparently a beer/cider mix. i might give it a shot. one of the reasons i cant get into beer is the bitterness hops provide. may be able to get my mouth around a good mix though.
looks fairly straightforward.
my roommate is also flying back to the bay area tomorrow for a wedding. im extremely jealous.
night.
