finally got out of town this weekend. unfortunately, i only got as far away from new york as my legs would pedal me, which didnt turn out to be that far. maybe 18 miles into jersey on the 9w, for a total on the weekend of just over 70 actual road miles. i feel like the 9w is constant up and downs, not a whole lot of mileage that you can put your legs on auto pilot and just cruise. it almost makes the west side green way or even central park feel like cheating. im kinda sore, but im already looking forward to the next time i can get out again. even better that i can come hope spent and read about both the giro and the tour of california.
bummer is i bent my back wheel both days. i hit something on saturday about 10 miles out that instantly borked it initially. i took it in to the shop on 87th on saturday night and had it fixed. today after crossing the gw back into the city i noticed it was bent again. kinda feel like the guys at the shop half assed the truing. ill take it into the shop downtown tomorrow and have them fix it. also ask them a couple wheel-related questions. they know quite a bit about bikes but thus far havent made me feel stupid like the other shop. and i know that the people that work there ride a lot, which i cant say for the place ive been going to.
anyway, other than my shaman hitting 60, that was the weekend. short week coming up since i took friday off for the second attempt at getting my ny drivers license.
getting much warmer out. i dont approve. constant 65 in sf was lovely during the summer. stupid new york.
night.
ps. i just now noticed the 'category' drop down. how long has that been there?
