from missing san francisco to missing home.
i got drunk and watched avatar tonight. though the forests of that movie are the exact opposite of the plains and mountains of home, i was struck by a feeling of powerful homesickness anyway. move than anything right now id like to be able to step outside and see a sky full of stars. there are so many people in this city that cant imagine what a clear nights sky really looks like.
one of the things i like most about that movie is the renewed desire im filled with to cut the industrialized crap out of my life im as addicted to my laptop and the internet as anyone i admit. but avatar always makes me want to clean out the shit in my diet and turn off all the electricity and get on my bike and ride away from civilization. the idea of getting on my bike and riding as far away from new york as my legs can carry me has so much appeal. its been a long time since ive left the city.
i had daydreams today of my cross country drives, specifically the drive from sf to new york. im not saying four days on the road by myself driving a uhaul was perfect or a lot of fun (it wasnt), but im very happy i did it. i saw parts of the country ive never seen before. nebraska and iowa along i-80 are actually very pretty. and pennslyvania, in spite of the rain the first night, was beautiful too.
anyway. my enhancement shaman finally hit 40, so i think im off to play more wow. a bike fit, new jeans, and some cleaning are on tap for the weekend (i know, my life sounds exciting!).
night.
