The English Flame
Natasha pulls another corner as she dresses the bed in room 132 as she looks over and checks on a paitent. You can never get all the wrinkles out of these plain old sheets as she tries to smooth them down. She catches a glimpse out the window of the hospital room and out into the parking lot. She takes notice of the people coming and going....its like this place is a hotel she thinks, people always coming and going and every now and then some one has to come in and straighten up these rooms. She takes a step back and lands on her flats as she looks around the room making sure everything is ready for its next occupient, it seems these days its never without one very long. With a gentle sigh she breathes out before turning on her feet and walking out the door into the crowded waiting room. In the distance she hears a voice calling out "Next!" as a paitent begins to hobble towards the check in counter where he is handed a clipboard and a pen. "Please fill this out, sir" he hobbles back to his seat. A child next to him puts on a jacket and rubs his hands up and down his arms, hospitals are always freezing he thinks to himself as he prepairs himself for the wait a head.of him.
Edmund is helped out of the car while one arm is thrown around his friend neck as they both stumble into the waiting room "Is the room for one more?"the poor man shows signs of a severe beating, as Natasha peers up from the Nurse's station wondering how this poor man is still alive. As she pulls back and whispers under his breathe, if he wasnt so black and blue, my face would be red, as she blushes and turns away. Edmund takes a seat next to a small girl who had a crash landing learning how to ride her bike without the training. Through his condition he still has a kind smile as he engages the young child in conversation.
Edmund is helped into the hospital bed while Natasha takes his blood pressure and gets him ready for the Doctor to come in and pass judgement on this man's mangled frame. Dr Johns apears right outside the door as Natasha exits the room. "I always said that sport is going to be the death of you one day" the doctor says as he offers a stern yet playful glare, peering down over the rims of his glasses. Ed has been coming to this doctor for years now, he'd always loved his sunny outlook on things, even in you were in the worst of pain he could make you smile. The doctor gives Ed a look down and tells him that he should be out of here in a few days tops, but once again he states the obvious "you really should look into another profession, Ed"knowing his words have landed on deaf ears. "If you need anything just one of the nurses know and they will help you out" as he leaves the room and moves on to the next paitent.
