YO DC+++ HOLLA AT ME!
Our film, the wonderfully dark, VERY SG friendly in a way that you should come and see it THEN list it under your film faves (*without any coaxing... sorta... actually w/mad coaxing) DEVILS ARE DREAMING is now an official selection for the DC Indie Film Festival in March... It's our third festival and, likely, our last before we head to phase 2 (the wonderful world of straight-to-DVD)...
So, if you're in the DC area you should come out...
Likewise, I'm a NYC boy and know zero about the DC scene (only been there a few times, good town kids) and can throw some places that I can wet my mouth with spirits, let me know...
For those of you who haven't heard the used car sales pitch, here's the "official" description of the film, straight from IMDB:
"Devils Are Dreaming" is a bizarre black comedy about high art, pornography and a thirty-year-old loser caught in between. Beginning in the world of experimental theatre, careening into the world of pornography and landing side-ways in suburbia, the film combines striking visuals, raw performances, a disjointed timeline, and layered musical atmospherics to tell the story of a wannabe trying to find himself through various doomed artistic pursuits. Joseph Avedon (Stephen Donovan) is an annoyingly unfocused thirty-year-old living at home with his worried parents. While taking part in a ridiculously bad experimental theatre version of "Hamlet", he falls in love with the talented and beautiful Cessia (Jessma Evans). But Joseph soon finds himself kicked out of the production, rejected by the girl and being drawn in to a successful life as a pornographer. When confronted with failures in art and love, as well as the potential for success in a field he abhors, Joseph starts losing touch with reality - falling in to hallucinatory "spells", striving to make his life work.
The amazingly brash band STUPID, who performed at the NY SG Burlesque, wrote the score and it is NOT to be missed...
(I am fully aware of how much I am whorin' my film out...)
Throw some love up...
