Word to the wise:
If you're hanging out with a friend, someone who's been bending backward to help you after you were raped, who has expended himself to exhaustion being there for you time and time again (the first time you were abused, and the second, and the third, and the rest), and someone you're drinking with says "fucking liberals" the same way that some guys say "fucking niggers," it's bad form to chime in, smiling, saying that your friend is one.
Especially when your friend is a centrist (radical centrist, to be precise) and you know that you're wrong, that you've admitted that you're wrong, and that hearing the liberal label bandied about him over and over and over again in that "silly rabbit, get a brain" tone of voice makes him want to kill.
This is why people don't help each other. They get tired of being shit on afterward for the sake of entertainment.
...
I'm a man of my word, though. I'll still be there for you, as I said I would.
Just know this:
My language tires; the bridge is shining with an orange halo where the tongues of young flame are beginning to show.
Wood and words have limits.

legionnaire:
Agreed. That can be really hard - a lot of people don't understand that you can't really separate a person from his beliefs, that they're often one and the same. When they insult your beliefs they're insulting you.
