What a crazy weekend!
Friday night was a good night here in Winchester. A few drinks with friends turned into dancing at a pub downtown that has a DJ blasting hot dance music every Friday night.
At some point, I was coerced into trying to fit into a Hannah Montana jacket....
I love my peoples. We get down like few others can.
Saturday morning I took of on the KTM to go help a friend do some work on his bike in a town about an hour and a half away. It only took a few minutes to do what was needed on his bike, and I took off on a 3 hour loop to get home. I was a total hoon, passing everything that appeared o the road in front of me, cars, trucks, Harley trains, anything.....
Got back to town, cleaned up a bit, and headed into DC for the DC United game with Bunny and her new man, Matty.
We had free tickets courtesy of VW America, through our friend Ryan who's a parts guy at BMW Sterling, in Sterling, VA. We got there with 15 minutes left in the game...lol. That wasn't a big deal, because what we were really there for was bar hopping in DC after the game. We ended up in the Saloon, just off of U Street, had a few beers and let quiet conversation turn into rowdiness, that included a cell phone accidently flying out of a 3rd story window, after being split in two by the bars in the window. One piece stayed with us, the other piece went out into DC traffic. After we payed out tab, we went down, and made a perfunctory search, and were amazed to find the second piece was still intact, lying on a manhole cover in the middle of the street. When we put it back together, it turned on like nothing had happened!! Ha!
We ended up in a couple of different U Street bars dancing our asses off to some great hip hop DJs. It's difficult to describe the feelings that come along with walking into a club in downtown DC only to find that the 6 people you are with are the only white people there. None of us care, but sometimes DC can be a pretty racially energized town. Everyone in the Bohemian was cool though, and the sideways glances turned into looks of amazement once we got on the dance floor and demonstrated our love of hip hop culture. The second place we went was more of a sports bar, but they still had a bangin' DJ puttin' down all kinds of good dance and hip hop tracks.
We left there and headed to Ben's Chili Bowl for a late night grease infusion. nothing better to soak up a night of partying. We started walking up the street looking for a Taxi Van, since the metro stopped running a couple hours before. Bunny decided she needed a piss, and she's no stranger to public urination. We headed into a deserted alley, and all decided it was a good place to relieve ourselves. No sooner had I started the stream, I realized the alley was infested with rats. There was an old tree stump that seemed to be their nest, they just kept coming out of there, one by one. I think there at least 20 of them. Keith kept attempting to pet one that was on top of a dumpster. Luckily, he wasn't successful....
We finally hailed a cab and made it back to ben's apartment in Alexandria around 4AM. We had a late night dance party there, that I'm sure disturbed the neighbors, before finally passing out.
Sunday morning, we got up and headed into old town Alexandria for Bloody Marys and Mimosas with brunch.
then we hopped on the Metro, headed back to my car that we had left at the Metro stop in Vienna, VA, and drove back to Winchester.
It amazes me that a long crazy weekend like that actually rejuvenates me, rather than wearing me down....
Oh yeah, my friend Aaron's GF Christy found this video on her phone of a dance party we had in his basement after a night of drinking in Winchester. Just thought I'd share a little video of our antics....
