Finished my first full week of the credit union. I am back in the wonderful world of salary. That means I can dicked over with hours, but I can make it up by leaving early and not having to worry about punching in & out.
There were a couple times this week I didn't think I was going to make it. I have been soooo sick. Hopefully I gave it to a couple people @ work.
Its raining right now and the weather report is saying we may get 6 inches of snow this weekend. To put in perspective for those of you not in Michigan, it hit 85 degrees (that's 29 degrees Celsius for you canucks out there) this week. From 85 degrees to 6 inches of snow. Unbelievable.
No wonder I am fucking sick.

star wars has always been a balance of good and bad. good actors and bad actors. boring politics and kick ass wars.
sociologically, the films are different. they represent different eras. 4-6 you're dealing with rebels who are, essentially, fighting the man. there are no jedi. they've been hunted to near extinction. 1-3 you're dealing with politics and a shift in government. there are plenty of jedi and they're basically cops. 1-3 are contrived because we already know whats coming. we know the outcome.
it's obvious that you don't like anything george lucas has done since like, 1985. that's fine. so why do you want to see episode 3? you know you will hate it. you don't like the other two.
i have complaints about all the films too. just like most of the movies i've ever seen. i still think there is nothing else in the genre that comes close to star wars.

could you imagine an aronofsky star wars ? or a fincher star wars ? it could have gone in so many directions. but it won't. it belongs to george lucas. noone has even attempted some thing like star wars in terms of creating a universe and inventing the technology to make it possible.
ultimately, i think lucas is an incredible visionary but not such a great writer.
p.s.
i love star wars
