It's Wednesday and oddly I find myself thinking of Voltaire, which can at times be rather unfortunate.
So I'm recalling various quotes and struck a rant nerve when I remembered this one. "No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible."
It was the worst thing to think of just after waking up. So I'm making correlations in my head. Even if I don't really care for Voltaire, he was right. How true is that quote when applied to modern history? In my opinion it is very. I'm thinking about prejudices and oppressions today and how terrible they can be. I feel my heart reaching out for woman who feels the need for an abortion but is stopped by fundamentalist beliefs physically or verbally, or the countless men and women oppressed by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's regime. Such a sad world we live in.
So I'll leave you with this thought and come full circle with this blog. Is it enough to be a snowflake, floating around making so little difference, or should we just form up Wonder Twin style and become a blizzard of change? You can be the monkey but I sure as hell will not be a bucket of water.
Thanks,
Shane
