Merry Christmas,
Well I said I was going to make a second post this month, so today seemed fitting. Got the bright idea to stay up until 5:30 am playing WoW with some friends when I knew that my sister would be kicking me out of bed pretty early to open presents, well 8:30 rolled around and she damn near knocked my door off its hinges.
This was the first year since I was probably about 12 that we just stayed home for Christmas instead of spending it with a bunch of relatives, after spending last Christmas in the hospital with my Grandma, making the 5 hour drive back and forth to Brooks every weekend for a couple of months my parents just wanted to stay at home and have a bit of a low key Christmas. So when I came out to the living room it was my parents, my sister, her boyfriend and my self sitting around the tree, everyone drinking Champagne and orange juice (don't ask me where it came from, my family has done it forever).
I hadn't asked for much for Christmas this year, mostly just things to help me with moving out in a couple months here. Got a nice Wok, Rice Steamer, Knife Set, etc for my kitchen which was cool because I enjoy cooking. My parents bought me a second LCD monitor so I can run duals on this computer and my grandpa bought me a pretty nice set of poker chips because "there was no way his grandson was getting nothing but practical gifts".
Quick summary of everyone else, my sister got a silver cross necklace that she had been wanting for a couple years from my relatives down in Lethbridge, the design involved some sort of fancy diamond style cutting that most jewelers can't do so it took them a long time to track someone down who could actually make the thing, she was pretty excited I think she'd just about given up on every finding one. Got my dad an X-BOX 360, yes my dad plays video games, and Gears of War for it, probably end up spending tomorrow sitting around the living room playing co-op mode with him.
My mom might be the single hardest person ever to buy for, she's not into jewelery or anything that isn't all that practical, so we got her a new VCR to watch her old movies (we got her a PVR for her birthday which is nice for recording and such but couldn't play the old ones she had from before her VCR broke), and then some other things she needed.
All in all it was a pretty nice Christmas so far, nothing big and fancy just spending some time with my family and taking it easy.
Hope everyone else had a good Christmas too, and if I don't make another post before January have a happy New Year.
