I had a good end to my week. I was finalizing a divorce for this couple last month that they'd started in 2005 and the husband was so nervous because he'd already made wedding plans for Valentine's Day. I told him I could make the dissolution date retroactive because they started the action so long ago.....but he was very anxious. There was a problem with an aspect of the husband's income information (that CAN effect the legal date of dissolution even by agreement)......and I didn't find out from the Court until last Monday. I scheduled a meeting with the Family Law Examiner's office, straightened everything out and was able to get the legal dissolution date of February 13, 2008. Whew. I called him that day and told him he was single again. He about flipped........I did a good job for them......but he's kind of a jerk/asshole......I'm confident that he'll return for divorce #2 when his new wife gets sick of him.
