36 hours.... From Vegas arrival to departure.
I got back to Vegas late on tuesday night. My future LA roomate had a gig DJ-ing at Studio 54 on wednesday. He arrived in true starving artist style: on a greyhound bus in the same clothes he had worn for his gig in Texas the night before.
54 was good as usual, saw the show biz conglomerate, danced a little, drank a little. Afterward, I had to put on my sunglasses in line at Del Taco to fend off the threat of the rising sun.
I went to take my friend to the bus-station today, and alas, stupidness happened, and it didn't work out. Sooooo.... Fuck it, I'm driving him to LA tonight. I don't have anything better to do, and I need to go anyway to register my car. I'll spend tomorrow at the Van Nuys DMV, and after that... whatever. I'll probably stay for a couple of days.
So to my LA friends, I ask you, is there anything interesting going on this weekend? Shows, parties, beer consumption festivals? I would like to make a new friend while I'm there.
On a very happy note, my friend Ben who nearly lost his life in a nasty motorcycle accident came out to play the other night. After 2 months in intensive care and rehab, hes still positive and silly. Here, see for yourself:
I got to play with my friend Robin last night. She was the only girl in my dressing room that I really related to. We were a regular pair of dancy-pants last night.
That will be all for now. You are dismissed, I'll see ya in Cali.

Having my first lazy day in a long time . . . watched 'Shaun of the Dead' with Elisabeth and Stiles this morning, poked around my mixed CD's and I think we are getting ready to have fun playing with metal. I am sure a beer is going to find it's way in to my hand soon too.
My friend that was in the show was Wes Selleck...but I think he was there about 5 years ago
I totally agree with you - "Dralion"...would have been a great experience, but out of all the shows...that one just didn't appeal to me as much as the others. The nice thing is that Cirque invited me to try again when ever I get out of the military
Anywho - what was it like to be apart of such a great show??? You should post some pics of you in costume
