Recent vinyl acquisitions:
Television "Adventure" - every bit as good as "Marquee Moon" even though it doesn't receive slobbering praise from hipster critics everywhere.
Patty Waters "Sings" - I recently discovered this late 60's avant garde jazz vocal gem (ie: Nina Simone, Yoko Ono on the last song only). I've been listening to the CD and I finally located a vinyl copy after about a...

Haha good one!

I just wanted you to know that I am into the after party at yer joint. I'm trying to get support, but don't know if I'm doing it right. Trying to talk the Sg's into it too but its just a party right?

If there is any kind of preparation or a few $, you can count on me to chip, k? I wanna see a SG community thing happen. It'd be cool.

EDIT: It's looking decent to happen...

I'm doing OK, some ups and downs, but I've been worse.

How are things in Chicago? It sounds like you have some cool art-space thingee, right? I'm going to be in town May 16-31. Maybe we can get a beer.

That book sounds interesting.

It has been thought of; Mark from HardBoiled keeps coming over and cooing over my wax -- I still have tons of it even AFTER letting him take a trunk full back to his shop. I really have too much stuff. Eh, whatcha gonna do?

Club Lago in River North is my new favorite bar/restuarant. Their calamari is outstanding - not overcooked and "rubbery" like some I have had.
The Tortellini with meat sauce was amazing.
And they serve Peroni Beer - one of the few places I have been able to find it in Chicago.
I saw Prince in Minneapolis on his way to LAX.
Some great art shows...

I like Lago, too, but I haven't been there in almost a year. My school is just up the street from there, and I always eat lunch at Mr Beef, which is the best damn Italian Beef in the city.

Don't forget -
On Friday, Feb. 6 Sound Gallery will host a group photography show featuring work by Chicago picture takers Marko Mihailovich, Brendan Lekan & Chris Rudnick.
As you can see from the examples on the web site, the photos will focus on musicians. What a perfect match for Sound Gallery! The opening reception will take place from 6 PM to (at least) 10...
