Dear Disaronno folks:

Your product is shitty.
Your commercials are dumb.
Please stop.

Your pal,

Johnny

P.S. If a "martini" has Disaronno in it, it is not a martini.
phantomvi:
Alright. I'm buying you a belated birthday beer Saturday night!

A crazy hobo threw a clock radio at my head today.

I know this sounds like a long-lost Syd Barrett lyric but it actually happened.
oak:
hobos in london aren't nearly as exciting as hobos in chicago.
phantomvi:
Seriously, there's something very very wrong with the homeless lately. There's been a rash of craziness that can only be blamed on the change in weather. I'm having incidents every day now, including some involving crazies that I haven't seen in over a year...
They're out to get me, I know it!

Recently returned from Toronto.
It's not as clean as I was told by others.
Everything seems to close early.
You can't smoke in bars - which is fine since I don't smoke but that would never fly in Chicago.
I couldn't find any decent records.
Kensington Market was pretty swell.
I had one of the best dirty-water-hotdogs ever from a street vendor after many Belgian...

Currently listening to: Regina Spektor "Soviet Kitsch"
Currently drinking: a LOT of Newcastle (it seems to be what I crave during the winter)
Currently reading: Unfortunately, nothing literary. LOTS of magazines. I'm attempting to catch up with all my subscriptions (Wired, Details, Spin, ReadyMade, TapeOp, etc.)
It's tax time - that's always fun.

Since I hadn't updated this page since shortly after the Presidential election, I figured a bi-monthly entry was in order. I've been quite the tycoon lately. In addition to selling records, I've been giving five dollar handjobs to tourists at the Greyhound station. Yep, just call me Captain of Industry! I heard this is how Rockafeller started.

Man, things are good for the most part, but they'll be a lot better if I get this job I'm trying for with a catering company that will pay about twice what my target income is to survive living in this city.

I'll have to hear what she thinks about Kendall once she gets into it a bit. Very cool that she started, though, I know she's been itching to do it for a while
ilovemikehunt:
trix is still for kids.
yep.
i need to come through soon and you need to be there.

I think the Daily Show is the only thing that will get me through these next four years. Oh yeah...and bourbon.

I had this dream the other night:

I was nursing a beer at a bar somewhere in Chicago when a bespectacled man approached me. He offered me one of his cigarettes - and then proceeded to explain how it would taste better if smoked through a German-made, antique, pewter, tube-powered cigerette holder.
"Thanks Mr. Albini.", I responded.

The end.

If you're talking about the Glenn Branca track which probably takes up a whole side of a 33 rpm record, I wouldn't doubt it, Lee + Thurston, started out in New York, w/ Glenn Branca's Guitar Army. PURE NOISE. smile

It's good so far; still getting settled in, though. Met some cool folk, finding cool places, it's good.
