So I went to a couple of good shows this week.

First was Helio Sequence, Future pigeon and Mia Doi Todd at the Knitting Factory. I actually reviewed this show for Filter and you can check it out @ Filter-mag.com, look under reviews, Helio Sequence.

The Second was last night. Mouse on Mars, Ratatat, and Junior Boys. I must say I was really surprised by the opening band Junior Boys. Think a mix of One Am Radio and The Notwist. Ratatat was high energy as usual. Mouse on Mars was a complete dance fest and although they are not the type of music I would typically listen too, I had a blast dancing the night away.

Now for new releases....

I just go the new Elliott Smith a couple weeks early. "from a basement on a hill" is sad and beautiful just like everything else he has done, but since he's not here anymore you can't help but shed a tear when you first hear that voice.
