i used to read people's wish lists hoping to peak beyond the image, but for the most part i just found the prior layer that i was peaking behind. but when you find oz behind the curtain it's amazing. some people, a very small few -not necessarily myself included, are amazing. their minds are like amusement parks. weeeeeee.
karma:
Maybe they only put the supperficial stuff on thier wishlist so that you wont know any more then the top layer. Or maybe things that they want that are important to them, they'd rather recieve from people they know on a closer level.
indexcard:
true. it's important to keep a private side even when revealing oneself. but you had an interesting list. thus the reason james joyce. sharing one's soul through literature is ... i don't know. honestly, i would like to know joyce better and the fact that someone else was interested in joyce was a potential insight to him and perhaps the person who wanted to read him. it's self affirming. or vampiric. wanting to follow another's lead. sometimes, it's easier to be completely private and revealing with a complete stranger than those closest to me. it's a continual desire to know someone other than oneself. those who really create their identity as opposed to assimilating an identity. blah, blah, blah. after many beers, drip, drip, drip. revel in one's time (as so wonderfully scripted in Blade Runner). that's the goal. it's just so hard to reach. a drive. a possession of the mind. but good point. it's no fun to share the same level of initimacy with the whole world. it wouldn't be special. look at marilyn. snap.
