Next week will be the week that determines the rest of my life. Assuming the dates are still set, I have both my ASVAB test and my physical.
I've studied the ASVAB every day for the past week, both here at home and at work. When I took the practice test, I nailed it with a 75, even after doing miserably on the math portion (it's a curved score), but there are still a few areas of weakness that I will need to study on before taking the final test.
Then there's the physical. Glasses aside, there are no with my body except for a wide and noticible burn scar above my ankle. I honestly don't remember where it's from...I think maybe I was too close to a space heater in Colorado? The recruiter said there should be nothing to worry about...but when an actual physician looks at it and starts asking questions, saying "I don't know where its from" is not the right answer. Lets hope this works out.
I told my boss about my plans, she's very excited and willing to work with me on my hours next week, despite having given such short notice due to my recruiters trying to speed up the process.
Oh, and I have two new pairs of glasses. The first pair is really cool in a Ringo Starr sort of way. The other pair is a classy gold-rimmed design. I prefer the first, but I had to get the second to qualify for the free eye exam (and save money in the process). I should be picking these up in a week or two. Thankfully although I need a new prescription it shouldn't hinder in any way the physical exam (as they check my eyes anyway).
