It's been a long week, and an especially long day. I work with two others on the phone and I swear...every week at least one of them calls sick. I then start backed up in outgoing mail, applications to process, ect. Why? Because I am taking phone calls every 3-5 minutes! I swear...working on the phones is a bitch.

To make matters worse, I was expecting a really cool game to arrive by this weekend. So I click on Amazon's tracking status page and it says "Item Delivered: 11/19 on Front Porch" (two days ago). Ermm, no?

I call Amazon and they are saying there is probably delay with UPS. More like a massive fuck-up. I think they sent it to the wrong address and some guy is probably looking at my game saying "Huh...what the hell is this?", tossing it on his kitchen counter and forgetting about it. Fortunatly Amazon is willing to replace it, but I have to wait until Wednesday. Either way I can't play it this weekend as I had hoped...ho hum frown.

With my short story I have an idea where I want to go with the plot and the characters, but the setting I've been spending a lot of time on. I am creating somewhat of a hybrid between science fiction and horror...and it's a bit hard to place what genre this actually is. But I want to create a believable world.

I've been writing notes, summaries, and have a brief synopsis of this "world". Also one challenge I've noticed is that in order to write effectivly, I need to outline the story. It's very easy to write from beginning to end, but you run the risk of going off-tangent and making a poor ending. Stephen King writes this way and although his stories are fantastic, some (The Stand and the Gunslinger series for example) have poor endings.

So in essence, I am working bits and pieces of scenes in my plot and filling in the blanks. It makes sense. But because this is a non-linear way to do things, I found that it can get very confusing at times.

Oh well, it's the weekend! I am just going to chill and have fun...and get some badly needed sleep.
