in the southern Haitian town of Jacmel, a group of young Haitian filmmakers saw their film school crumble in the earthquake earlier this week but they have found an inspiring way to move on. they are picking up their cameras and documenting the stories of their friends, family and countrymen that surround them. it's an empowering way for these budding filmmakers to speak out and its a fantastic way to counter the, frankly, stupid stuff that gets said on CNN, MSNBC and the always inane Fox News.
the filmmakers have also begun posting their reports/films online.
so to read more about the students' work, view their films and find out how to help, go here: http://www.nyccine.com/2010/01/haitis-only-film-school-provides-inside.html
