just got back from seeing michael haneke's THE WHITE RIBBON with a friend. the movie is about this puritanical German village at the beginning of the 20th Century where mysterious and violent "accidents" begin to harm members of the town. slowly, over the course of the film, you begin to see what is happening. it's a brilliant film and one of the best movies ive seen in the last few months. it's not for everyone but if you like fucked up art films about repressed europeans or haneke's other films (FUNNY GAMES / THE PIANO TEACHER / CACHE) check this one out.
