So I've been on a vegan diet for the last week. It's been soooo hard. I just went cold turkey. I hadn't even been vegetarian before the decision to go vegan, so it's a huge adjustment. It wasn't a moral decision, it was for my health. My body has been hating me lately. I've been eating nothing but fast food for months and it's been taking its toll. My digestive system is shot, and my weight has gone out of control (out of control by my standards since I worked my ass off to lose that 30 pounds I'd put on the last few years). I'd seen my doctor after nearly a week of thinking I had a really bad flu bug because my stomach was so upset and I was having some serious issues digesting food, and this is what was recommended to let my body "detox" from all the crap I've been eating. So far I've seen awesome results. I've lost 5 pounds in the week that I've been on the diet, I feel healthier and I've had a ton more energy.
It's probably not going to be a permanent lifestyle change, the doctor recommended it for at least a month, but I'm hoping that after a month of sticking to it strictly, it will permanently change the way I think about food and what I eat in the future.

Should I expect to see you tomorrow at the Burlesque show?
