New definition of relationships I just came up with yesterday.
Dating = Kissing, slight sexual contact, mostly social contact. No obligations.
Hanging out = After dating, you have sex. You are now hanging out. More sexual contact, less social only contact. Still no obligations, no big drama if it ends.
Girlfriend/boyfriend = You are now both having sex and sexual contact, and only with each other. You have an obligation to split up with the other person if you want to date or hang out with someone else. You are obliged to meet friends and relatives.
Engaged = really big deal if you split up.
Married = Your life is over.
