Hello my dear SG. We haven’t written off with you for a long time, right?..
(A little tantalizing photo and I will get to the point. The photo has partial nudity, but it is not in focus at all, so I hope this will be considered as safe for work😋)
It seems that I have repeatedly written what this world means to me. Alternative beauty, extraordinary personalities, a small dream for “informal” people to express themselves, to be heard, supported and appreciated. And take a similar step towards. In my country, informal beauty seems to have become especially popular somewhere in the mid-2000s, during the collision of the Gothic subculture and the transient emo wave. Somewhere at the end of the first decade of the millennial, I found out about the Suicide of the Girl. For me, the models seemed so unattainable, mysterious, bewitching... And, let's be honest, let the individuality and beauty of everyone regardless of type and size be appreciated here, it is girls who are close to the "standard" parameters that become more and more popular. I couldn't ever imagine that one day I would join this world. But I kept on dreaming.
And now I'm here. As a Hopeful, but I'm here!
And I'm learning along with you. Growing with you. Self-developing. Believing. With you and due to you.
I've seen a comment from a Suicide girl somewhere in the group threads here. She wrote something like "Hopefuls, keep on trying and believing, but don't make the SG your life". This is quite a controversional thing, I think. What if SG is already a significant thing for me? How can I keep believing and trying if SG is not part of my life? How can I be honest in the opposite way?.. At least, I came here not just for the money or popularity; they are valuable factors, but not as valuable as the very being here, meeting my dream so close. How an artist can express himself if his art is not a meaningful part of his life?.. Of course I can understand that that SG girl meant just "girls, don't get mad over the SG if you're still Hopefuls, don't start spamming yourselves everywhere or blaming the SG and looking for conspiracy affecting on you not turning Pink still", etc. But do you understand how else those words of her could be perceived?.. :-)
Aaand now. Here's a question of mine to all of you. It's not unique, I know that at least @orleana once asked something similar. But it's still a valuable thing - for me and, I suppose, for many people here.
How and why did you came here? What did you expect to see or what are you expecting to? What do you like about SG in general? What changed here? What did you like about the changed and what you didn't? And, if you want to answer, what do you like in SG's and\or SGH's sets and what would you like to see?.. I would be glad to read both short and detailed answers :-)
As for me, I've already told how I got here - @aonbheannach brought me here as I wanted to join SG and she offered me to do that. As for changes, I've looked through the very old sets and found out that the SGs now look much more "standart" than it was before, with all those rock, thrash, themed and dark sets :) I'd like to see more artistic sets here and I'd love to see the tipping option to members (as well as using the MasterCard along with PayPal or Paxum, but that's a different story...) here.
Have yourself a wonderful winter!
Love,
I.D.
