This was my celebration last night NYE. I figured I would either have an expensive night or a cheap night. Spent $20 all up and that includes travel so I did a good job making it cheap. My three amigos I got as a gift and I decided they would join me.
Some before and after shots of me on the night. The front camera I learned is cracked at the bottom hence the white light. Also I have come to believe most people are just so disensitised to the world in general that seeing a top hat elicits little response. A couple of people complimented the hat and outfit but otherwise it was just whatever
I certainly got a lot of exercise by walking so much. I went to Darling Harbour for the 9pm fireworks but security was tight and you couldn't take the quick route across so everyone going their had to walk around in this strange loop. Afterwards I spent 40 minutes walking through the Rocks until I found this little spot.
For the most part it was pretty uncrowded until 11.30pm when hordes started streaming in including some right idiots who practically sat on me and the only reason I didn't cause a fuss because the husband looked like he had been to jail a few times or at the very least, would oblige a fight (father of 3 btw and the mother was the one trying to lean on me). And yes I am easily irked because I am fed up with people mostly treating me like I am some kind of ghost
Obviously not the best vantage point since I was behind the bridge rather than in front but considering most people in Sydney tend to spend the entire day staking out spots because they have nothing better to do. Plus side it actually got less crowded when everyone was standing. Another hour walk and I caught a train back home which only made a couple of stops although someone was paranoid and thought i was giving them the evil eye.
For the record the Rum was mixed with Coke near the Subway I got the coke at around 8pm, the Vodka was mixed with Raspberry Schwepps at 10pm and the Apple Brandy was eventually mixed with Apple Cider at 12.30. Hope you all had as good an evening as I did or more likely a better evening since I drank my amigos.
