Artwalk took place in my neighborhood this weekend.
This means I get a chance to see how creative and amazing my neighbors are. I also get a chance to buy some raw material for my own work as well, too. For instance, I bought some smoky quartz for a magic wand I intend to make soon. Every Impboy needs one. And it turns out one of the people here owns a printing press, which is what I need to print my pages. The idea of being able to do my work without driving around is always a pleasant thought.
It's amazing what some of these people have done with their spaces here. We here at the California Schoolbook Depository now know we have to raise are game in the interior decorating department after seeing some of these loft spaces. But when you're as busy as I am with two jobs, costumes, and a display of artwork this week, things get piled up you know?
But i feel i still have a bit more self-esteem than one woman I saw today in one of the studios. She looked at me and said, this is what must happen when you're surrounded by all this art. I smiled. three or four minutes later, she crouched into a corner, without noticing I was standing next to her, and started muttering to herself that she was worthless.
As i stood there, listening to her, i wondered, am i the only person who is hearing this?
i think she needed that time to herself, so i let her be. and of course, most people were actually able to enjoy so much creativity. freeman, one of the main peeps behind the robot vs, monkey camp at Burning Man this year, opened up his space, and my friends, it is a treat. I have some photos of murals from that space that you all gonna dig. males looking for females, either on this site or just in life, four of them I think you should read, just to brush up on some important strategies that will help you in love, lust and life. They wil be in my candid shots
we artists are good teachers.
in the meantime, a fellow artist from arizona stayed with me briefly this weekend. she made a beautiful satchel for me, and gave me some sage grown on the ranch she lives and works on in the desert. This, of crouse, will go well with my butterfly suit. I am taking care of her car while she is in Japan, where she intends to study Butoh with Yoshito Ohno. of course, she is just kinda showing up, and who knows if Ohno, a very old man at this point, will have much to teach her? But it will be a good learning experience for her.
And in the meantime, I have to learn how to drive a stick, since that is her car. And I have to develop my vision for my room, I'm thinking Arthurinian cyberpunk. Don't ask me why, but I just have this thing for legends and fairytales, particularly as a writer and budding storyteller.
So off I must fly.
